Sauna Room Tips

You need to keep your sauna room clean and hygienic.
People do sweat heavily in a sauna which can cause discoloration over time. However, the high heat of the sauna guarantees that any moisture buildup will have evaporated by the time the sauna cools down. Caution! - Avoid the use of chemical cleaners in the sauna room. The residues from these cleaners may be released when the sauna is heated.

Caring for the Wood

The sauna benches are exposed to a lot of perspiration, so always provide towels for people to sit on. This will keep the wood in relatively good condition, but it will still need to be cleaned every couple of months. Use a mild detergent to wash the wood and rinse it with clear water afterwards. Do NOT use ammonia based cleaners because they can cause the wood to turn gray.

A traditional sauna requires more maintenance than an infrared sauna.
